½ cup black millet (Bajra)
½ cup yellow moong dal (washed and cleaned)
1 cup chopped spinach (Palak)
2 tsp ghee
1 tsp cumin seed (jeera powder)
Pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
¼ tsp turmeric powder (Haldi)
Salt to taste
STEPS:
Soak the bajra in sufficient amount of water for atleast 8 hours.
Wash the yellow moong at least 2-3 times with water and then keep it aside.
Mix the soaked bajra, yellow moong dal, salt, 2 cup of water in a pressure cooker for 4 whistles.
Let the steam escape before opening the pressure cooker.
In a deep non-sticky pan heat ghee, hing and turmeric powder and saute for few seconds on medium flame.
Add spinach to the mixture and allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes on a medium flame.
Add the cooked bajra-yellow mong dal mixture,pinch of salt, mix and cook on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes while continuously stirring.
Serve the dish with pickel/ ghee, as per taste.
